New Releases!

Nylvi’s picks among the latest releases:
Deerhunter’s Microcastle was on many best album lists last year and Bradford Cox has delivered a strong contender this year too with “Logos” under his solo alias Atlas Sound. Though, he’ll meet strong competition from the likes of Fuck Buttons and Cold Cave who are out with “Tarot Sport” and “Love Comes Close” respectively.
Compilation of the year might just turn out to be “Ghana Special: Modern Highlife, Afro-Sounds & Ghanaian Blues 1968-1981” from the always amazing Soundway Records.
King Khan & BBQ have cooked up some great new garage rock nuggets for us on “Invisible Girl“, while Bibio serves us 4 new songs and some older songs spiced up by the likes of Clark, Eskmo and Wax Stag on “The Apple and the Tooth“.
Flaming Lips have found their old, weird self again on “Embryonic” and Strokes singer Julian Casablancas invents himself new on his debut solo album “Phrazes For The Young“. Same goes for Mathias Aguayo who leaves minimal behind and follows new and unexpected directions on his latest album “Ay, Ay, Ay“.
Bear In Heaven is out with some great spacious pop anthems on “Beast Rest Forth Mouth“, if more dense drone/psyche sounds are more your thing we highly recommend checking out Black To Comm’s latest “Alphabet 1968“.
Finally, we got the intercontinental supergroup Pastels/Tenniscoats who mixes the best of Japanese and Scottish indie pop on “Two Sunsets“.
